We're sorry guys, but alcohol has LOADS of calories in it. We've put together a list below so you can count them up. You need to stay under 2,000 calories a day to lose weight and remember that 4 pints of strong ale would use up 1,760 calories. So if you are going to drink heavily, you will have no calories left to eat! It's easy to see how drinking can really make a difference to your weight. Try to avoid it, or if you can't, choose lower calorie alternatives and stick to no more than a couple of light drinking evenings per week. It's better for your heart anyway! Avoid any additional snacks. Just 1 oz. of dry roasted peanuts is 177 calories, nearly the calories of a pint of beer. Why not take your girlfriend to a sophisticated place where you get a cup of black coffee - without sugar that's only 4 calories for a large cup. Well, it was only a suggestion! And avoid the late night curry or kebab at all costs!
